Tom Cruise defamation lawsuit has been settled. The publisher of two tabloid magazines says it never intended to imply that Tom Cruise had abandoned his daughter after his divorce.
The statement from Bauer Publishing on Friday accompanied news that Cruise and the tabloids had reached a confidential settlement in a defamation case filed by the actor.

Bauer operates Life & Style and In Touch magazines. Cruise sued the magazines over a pair of stories that suggested he had abandoned his daughter Suri after divorcing actress Katie Holmes.
His lawyer, Bert Fields, called the stories outrageous and said that Cruise spoke to his daughter frequently while working on a pair of movie shoots that kept him overseas.
Fields did not immediately return an email message seeking comment.
The magazines’ statements said they regret if anyone interpreted their stories as meaning Cruise had cut all contact to his daughter.
Back in November, Hollywood Reporter noted, Tom Cruise‘s deposition from his defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media is mostly a series of nitpicky questions about the actor’s schedule and his time with daughter Suri.
