The man, who has not been publicly named, was reportedly shopping at an Apple Store in Bethesda, Maryland when the 800lbs door fell on top of him. According to his friend, the doors were only recently installed a few days prior to the incident. The same friend posted a photo of the man lying on the ground on Reddit after the accident with the caption:

“The 800lb door at the Apple store in Bethesda, MD fell on my friend, breaking his pelvis yesterday. Apple hasn’t made any attempts to get in touch with him.”

The Reddit poster, who goes by maxrezn, stated on the website that the doors were installed a couple of days before the accident took place and that it should be Apple’s responsibility to pay for the damage done to his friend. Max also stated that his friend has already found a lawyer and plans to sue the store for his broken pelvis.

Apple has not made any comments regarding the incident as of today. Despite the amount of pain and damage the man suffered after the 800lbs pound Apple store door fell on top of him, he is said to be in good spirits. Max told Redditors:

“Someone asked him last night what insurance he had. He answered “Apple Care” but doesn’t remember that.”

Sure he’s in good spirits. Apple is a wealthy company and this injured man is going to be rich beyond his wildest dreams. If you’ve got to get a broken pelvis, the best place that could happen is in an Apple retail store. Better than trying to find and sue some hit and run driver.

The contractor who installed that door will soon be bankrupt!

Your headline is ambiguous. Why was the “customer breaking his pelvis”?

Sounds like a great line of work! I’m sure the sum of the damages will ride him into retirement. Remind me to pull the bolt from the door next time I’m walking through! I wonder how he did it?
