An Iowa man was arrested after a fight over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on Friday after a confrontation with his brother in their Des Moines, Iowa home they share. Police say the man was arrested after he pulled a knife on his brother after a fight over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
The Des Moines Register reports that Jerome Davis is the name of the man arrested. Both Davis and his brother are in their 50s.
Davis’ accuser told police he was angry because he believed his brother was eating too many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per Fox News. His brother allegedly made three sandwiches and ate them in their living room, and made another one less than an hour later.
A police report states that the brothers began to argue about laziness and overeating. Davis then allegedly pulled out a folding knife and held it to his brother’s face, threatening to cut him.
Davis had been charged with domestic abuse with a weapon and has been taken to Polk County Jail.
It is perhaps the strangest news of today, hearing of someone being arrested after a fight over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but hopefully these two brothers will be able to resolve their sandwich problems peacefully.
