White House Denies Petition To Take Jimmy Kimmel Off Air

White House denies petition to take Jimmy Kimmel off air for Kid’s Table China Debt segment

Over 105,000 people signed a petition to take Jimmy Kimmel Live off air due to his segment featuring four children at the Kid’s Table a few months ago.  The skit was reportedly off script, allowing the children to essentially speak their minds.

The Kid’s Table segment in question was the edition featuring the question, “America owes China $1.3 trillion, how should we pay them back?”  Apparently one little boy’s answer created an uproar.  The little boy blurted out the answer, “Kill everyone in China!” in response to Kimmel’s question.

While both ABC and Jimmy Kimmel have publicly apologized for this segment, this apparently was not good enough for some.  The petition signed called for both an apology, and the removal of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The White House responded to the petition stating that Jimmy Kimmel Live cannot be forced off air.  The White House also mentioned the apologies of ABC and Jimmy Kimmel, and noted that the Constitution protects free speech.

ABC has removed the Kid’s Table China debt segments from future broadcasts and from its internet platforms.  Wondering what the other kids had to say?
