Marvel has been making some big casting moves as of late, and this one is no exception. According to TV Guide, Aliens star Bill Paxton will be appearing in at least four upcoming episodes of the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
“We wanted to bring in a rough-and-tumble former cohort of Agent Coulson with a little bit of attitude and cigar-smoking swagger,” said Jed Whedon, the shows Executive Producer
This big casting announcement comes very shortly after it was revealed that Academy Award winner Micahael Douglas will be playing Hank Pym in the upcoming Ant-Man film. In the Marvel Universe Paxton’s character, John Garrett, was an S.H.I.E.L.D agent who’s life was saved by being turned into a cyborg. This definitely adds some real star power and potential for exciting things to happen.
Fan reaction to the show so far has been somewhat mixed, with many feeling that the show has not lived up to its potential. The adding of Paxton could be just what the show needs to help fans stay on board. Bill Paxton will be making his debut on the show either in late February or early March.
