Dad from Ohio shoots his daughter while arguing with her mother and now he’s asking for a special release from prison to attend his daughters funeral. Deandre Kelly from Cincinnati fired four shots into the ceiling of his home during the argument and one of the bullets pierced the floor of daughters room above and struck her in the chest fatally injuring the young girl.
His 11-year-old daughter, Shanti Lanza, had went upstairs to her room to escape her parents agrument, according to authorities. The shots were fired at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning and the girl was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to police reports Kelly was drunk while firing shots in his home; he is being charged with reckless homicide and held on a $500,000 bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

The girls funeral is scheduled for Saturday and Kelly’s lawyer, Hugh McCloskey Jr., is asking the judge to approve a special prison release, so he can attend his daughters funeral. A judge is expected to make a decision on Thursday for the mans appeal.
People from around the Sedamsville community where the girl grew up gathered to sing songs and light candles in her memory.
