During the 4th quarter of the San Francisco vs Seattle NFC Championship game, 49ers linebacker Navarro Bowman was injured during a controversial fumble.
After ripping the ball out of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse’s hand, the star linebacker was injured. The shocking call was clearly a Seattle fumble, but the referees called it a non fumble field. What should been a 49ers recovery instead ended with Seattle retaining possession. The ruling stated that the play was non review-able.
The following play the Seahawks fumbled again, but this time recovered the ball. The Niners took over possession of the ball before Colin Kaepernick was intercepted.
Bowman played college football for Penn State University. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the 91st overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
