The White House is now obligated to review the petition to have Justin Bieber deported from the United States back to Canada.
Justin Bieber Deported? White House Must Address Petition
The petition, located on We the People, is almost at 130,000 signatures. It’s purpose is to deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card. The petition reads “We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society.”
Once petitions reach 100,000 signatures, the White House Administration agrees to review and issue a response. Typical response time is about 30 days. This does not guarantee that steps will be taken, but at least that the petition will be read.
On January 23, 2014, Justin Bieber was arrested for a DUI and drag racing. The same day, the petition was created.
So what is the likelihood that Justin Bieber will indeed have his greencard revoked and be deported? Probably pretty low. Petitions are usually serious in nature, but anyone can start a petition, regardless of the nature of the article. It will be interesting to see how seriously the White House considers deporting pop star Justin Bieber.
