Michigan mother arrested after body parts found in garbage bags alongside a Michigan highway
A 59 year old woman was arrested on Saturday after human body parts were found inside of garbage bags alongside a Michigan road.
The remains have been identified through fingerprints as belonging to a missing 32 year old man from St. Clair Shores who was reported as missing on Sunday. His name is yet to be released. Reports indicate that the 32 year old man was the arrested woman’s son.
St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office received a call about suspicious activity on a Michigan highway near the Canadian border on Thursday. Another witness told deputies that she had seen garbage bags being thrown from a white SUV that a “heavy-set middle aged white female” was driving.
Security cameras from a BP gas station near the area were released showing the woman and a gray GMC Jimmy or Chevy Trailblazer, stated police.
The bags, which contained the human remains, clothing, and charred papers, had been dumped in various locations.
Two residences were searched after the arrest of the 59 year old woman. A statement released says, “The Michigan State Police Crime Lab assisted investigators processing the residences for evidence associated with the homicide and dismemberment of the 32-year-old male.”
