New  reports   say  that  a  passenger  on board  a  Pegasus  Airline  flight   demanded  the  flight  be  rerouted  to  Sochi,  Russia,  where  the  Olympic  Winter  Games  are  being  held,  after  announcing  he  had a  bomb  with  him  on  the  plane.   The  flight  had  110  passengers  flying  from  Kharkov,  Ukraine  before  the  hijacker  announced  his  plans  and  for  the  plane  to  change  course.

The  pilots  announced  to  control  of  the  situation  and  that  they  were  redirecting  to  Sochi  but  turned  off  the  in-flight  tracking  and  flew  the plane  and  hijacker  to  Istanbul,  Turkey  were  they   were  escorted  by  two  Turkish  F-16s  upon  entering  Turkey  airspace.

The  plane  landed  safely  at  Istanbul  Airport  to  awaiting  police,  who  searched  the  plane  for  the suspected  hijacker,  in  which  U.S.  Officials  have  announced  that  the  Turkish  police  do  have  a suspect  in custody  though  the  plane  and  it’s  passengers  are  still being  held  in a  secure  part  of  the  airport  as  they  search  for  the  explosive  device.

As  of  yet,  there  has  been  no  fatalities  of  the  passengers  and  it  is  unclear  if  the  hijacker  was  working  alone,  or  this  was  one  of  many  flights  that  could  of  been  hijacked  to  disrupt  the  Winter  Olympics  set  in  Russia,  like  the  planned  hijackings  of  flights  used  in September  11, 2001  that left  many  dead.
