Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook may be the highest paid American CEO by far, but he is apparently the most generous as well. The Chronicle of Philanthropy reported that Zuckerberg donated almost $1 Billion in 2013. The report states that America’s wealthiest donated a total of around $7.7 Billion, which shows that Zuckerberg made a huge chunk of that himself. What else is the 2nd youngest self-made billionaire in history supposed to do with all his money?

Most of Zuckerberg’s donation went to a Silicon Valley community fund, of which they have generously donated an approximate wealth of around $1.5 Billion over the past 2 years. That’s not bad for a young man who just barely broke the age of 30. People are eagerly awaiting news on what the Community Fund will be doing with all of that money, and what their mission will be to put it to good use. While Bill and Melinda Gates may be among the most notable donors of all time, Zuckerberg is well on his way to doing good deeds with his amassed wealth.
In the past few years Mark Zuckerberg has gone from being a bright college student with a great idea into one of the wealthiest men in the world. His current net worth is approximately $28 Billion, most of which hinges on the value of Facebook‘s share prices. As his company celebrates its 10th year in operation, it has really only been a major corporation for part of that time. It grew from a friendly college-student site run out of his dorm room into a massive multi-billion dollar operation. As more people continue to engage in online social media, the future for Facebook as a front-runner is looking good. The company continues to grow and acquires new resources regularly to add to their capabilities for the future.
