The Powerball $400 million jackpot has garnered millions of people hoping to be the winner of the massive prize.
The Powerball Jackpot drawing is happening Wednesday, February 19 at 7:45pm. This jackpot, with an over $200 million one time cash payout, is the fourth largest multi-state Powerball in the drawings history.
The odds of winning the jackpot are slim to none as individuals have a 1 in 175 million chance of getting all six numbers correct in order to win the grand prize. However, if players are able to match the five numbers without the main Powerball number, they can win up to $2 million.
The Powerball Jackpot is played on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A player selects 5 numbers ranging from 1 to 59. He then selects an additional Powerball number that goes from 1 to 35. If the player matches all six numbers, they have the winning ticket and can collect the $400 million Powerball Jackpot.
There have been less than 20 winners since 2006. Many of the contestants optioned to receive the one time cash prize instead of the 30 graduated annual payments. The largest ever payout was $223.7 million cash by one ticket holder in Michigan.
Details about the winners will be given as soon as they are announced.
