Seattle QB Russell Wilson has shown off some nifty moves on the gridiron so it only makes sense that he show them off on Dancing With the Stars, right?
Football players have done well on the popular reality television show and after his team’s big win over the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl there are few football players in as much demand as he is. Baltimore Ravens wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones did the show last season after turning in a stellar performance in the big game as well.
People from DWTS have asked Wilson to be on the show; twice in fact. He was approached after his rookie season as well as the end of this past season. Both times he said no, but his answer should make fans of the show and of the Seahawks happy.
He didn’t say no; more like not yet.
“I’m going to do it,” Wilson said of appearing on the show (via CBS Sports). “At some point, I’m going to definitely do it. I love ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ I love watching, and I love dancing myself, so hopefully, I could win it.”
“I need to focus on my football career right now. It’s one of those things where I’m trying to do as much as I can winning football games for the Seattle Seahawks and our franchise, but I will do it at some point, for sure.”
If his career trajectory continues to trend upwards its likely he will always be in demand so as long as the show is on the air fans may get to see him in dance shoes someday.
