In June 2011, Pinkberry co-founder Young Lee beat a homeless man and now a Los Angeles judge has sentenced him to 7 years in prison without parole.

Pinkberry is a frozen yogurt dessert store based out of Los Angeles.  Customers can help themselves to samples of the frozen yogurt, then choose from a variety toppings.  They pay by the ounce for the frozen yogurt and toppings.  The franchise was started in 2005 and Young Lee is no longer involved with the store.

A homeless man, Donald Bolding, flashed a tattoo of two stick figures having sex to the people in Young Lee’s car, which included his fiance.  He drove off, but returned later with a passenger and beat Bolding with a tire iron.  Bolding suffered from a broken forearm and cuts to the face.

David Lee was the sole witness to the beating.  When he was on the stand, he told the judge and jury that Young Lee had threatened the lives of David’s family when he learned he would testify against him.  Due to the threats, the judge decided Young should go to prison without the possibility of being bailed out due to the threat.
