Jim Isray arrested might be the beginning of the end for the Indianapolis Colts owner after police took him into custody following DUI charges.
Police say that Jim Isray was arrested for driving under the influence and being in possession of a controlled substance. Isray was stopped after police spotted him driving at a slow speed. The 54-year-old NFL team owner stopped in the roadway and failed to signal during a turn.
According to Carmel Police Dept. Lt. Joe Bickel, Isray failed several sobriety tests:
“During the course of the investigation, Irsay subsequently failed several roadside field sobriety tests.”
After further investigation, police also found multiple pill bottles in Isray’s vehicle. The police report states that these prescription drugs were not associated with the prescription bottles found in the car.
Before his arrest, Jim Isray wrote on his personal Twitter account that he had been sober for over 15 years. The Colts owner is now facing four counts of felony possession of controlled substances and is currently out on $22,500 bail. Isray was booked into Hamilton County Jail in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Indianapolis Colts have released the following statement in regards to Isray’s arrest:
“We are gathering information at this time regarding last night’s incident involving Jim Irsay. The team will issue additional statements when the facts are sorted and we are aware of the next steps to this process. Many fans have reached out to express their concern and we appreciate their support.”
