The Taco Bell breakfast Ronald McDonald ad may be the company’s most provoking jab at their fast food competitor.
Taco Bell gathered 25 men who have the legal name of Ronald McDonald and put them in one commercial to support their new breakfast program that comes out this Thursday. The commercial included Ronald McDonalds from across America who are, of course, big fans of Taco Bell’s new breakfast meal.
Before the McDonald jabbing begins, the narrator says:
“To show you just how much people are loving Taco Bell’s all new breakfast, we asked some very special people.”
Then, one by one, each Ronald McDonald is featured saying how much they enjoy Taco Bell’s breakfast. Toward the end of the commercial, all 25 Ronald McDonald’s are grouped together and say in unison:
“My name is Ronald McDonald, and I love Taco Bell’s new breakfast.”
The commercial comes to its final end when the narrator says:
“Breakfast anybody can love — even Ronald McDonald.”
Taco Bell is taking a big step in the breakfast market competing with McDonald’s who has claimed over 25 percent in the breakfast area. However, Taco Bell President Brian Niccol claims that customers are ready to see diversity when it comes to options for fast food breakfast as he told reporters:
“Our customers have asked us to do breakfast because there’s a sea of sameness in breakfast sandwiches.”
McDonald’s representatives have not yet commented on the not-so-subtle jab at their company. The video has already gone viral and received thousands of views in less than 24 hours.
