Comcast acquired NBCUniversal with the hopes that this would help DailyCandy mesh with more of their networks as well, but that hope never quite materialized.

Good-byes are never easy. After 14 years of bringing you the best, we will close our doors on 4/4. Thanks for the memories. Xoxo

NBCUniversal acquired Television Without Pity in 2007.  Television Without Pity provided recaps and reviews  of television shows.  It originally started as a blog analyzing Dawson’s Creek.

Regarding their closures, Television Without Pity tweeted:

TWOP will cease operations on April 4, but our forums will remain open till May 31. To our fans: Thank you for your support over the years.

A total of 64 employees will be affected by the shutdown of DailyCandy and three will be affected by the shutdown of Television Without Pity.
