Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley 2: It’s been a long, tough road for the fallen boxer, but it appears that he might finally be on the road back to the top.
Boxing fans that were looking and hoping to see a good fight Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas–and they got just that. Pacquiao had promised that he was going to return to his aggressive ways and he did just that. Bradley did his best to keep up with him, but after going for the knockout and not getting it he became tired.
From that point on it was all Pacquiao. This time there was no doubt how the judges saw the fight with two scoring it 116-112 and the other 118-110.
It’s the first time Bradley has ever lost a fight making his record 31-1.
The question now is rather obvious–what’s next?
The last time these two met in the ring the fall from grace or Pacquiao began. A controversial loss to Bradley back in June 2012 led many to doubt him. When that loss was followed up by a knockout at the hands of longtime rival Juan Manuel Márquez many believed he was done.
But not him.
Pacquiao began his comeback trail with a unanimous decision over Brandon Rios last November. As good as he looked he knew he needed a statement win in order to prove that he was indeed back and better than ever. Who better to fight than the man that broke his undefeated streak?
So does that mean we will see another Juan Manuel Márquez fight so that he can avenge his knockout? Or will Floyd Mayweather finally give the boxing world what it wants–and will pay millions to see?
Only time will tell.
