Pelvic Floor Exercises- The New Way to Tackle Premature Ejaculation

Pelvic Floor Exercises may Help Spice up Sex Life, Combat Premature Ejaculation

Men with chronic premature ejaculation problems may now experience an improvement in their sex life by just practising pelvic floor exercises

Taking into consideration 40 men aged between 19 to 46, the researchers attempted to try different treatment approaches for those affected by premature ejaculation, including creams, behavioural therapy, antidepressants etc.

Some of the subjects were also trained to practise pelvic floor exercises regularly for a period of 12 weeks, and careful observation revealed how the average time to ejaculate increased surprisingly among the men who practised these exercises regularly. It was found that on an average, the ejaculation time was around 32 seconds, and after practising pelvic floor exercises, it increased almost four fold and jumped to 2.5 minutes, which is impressive.

“This is a small study, so the effects need to be verified in a bigger trial. Nevertheless, the results are very positive,” study leader Dr. Antonio Pastore, of Sapienza University of Rome, explained. “The rehabilitation exercises are easy to perform, with no reported adverse effects.”

What’s, more, the researchers also found how these exercises were able to boost sex life in men, and were also thought to boost confidence levels.

While pelvic floor exercises were usually practised to tackle urinary incontinence, this new study has found how it could be even more helpful.

“Premature ejaculation is a real problem for many men, and any way which we can find to help this condition is welcome,” Carlo Bettocchi, a professor and a spokesman for the association, added. “This method is particularly welcome because it is the sufferers themselves who overcome the problem through their own efforts — which will have additional psychological benefits,”
