Hill was a contestant on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette with Andi Dorfman.  The season is still in the works of filming.  Though the accident did not happen while filming or while Hill was still a contestant, he will be appearing on the show and the crew will need to address as sensitively as possible.

Creator of The Bachelorette, Mike Fleiss, spoke with E! News about the loss:

“We’re going to try to be as sensitive as possible.  It’s a bizarre predicament that we never expected to be in, but our problems aren’t important. It’s about his family now. My heart goes out to them. I pray for them and my staff, they’re just wrecked.”

Hill had launched a company called The Global Odyssey that was dedicated to him visiting 195 countries in world record time.  The Facebook page for his company is now asking people to hashtag #livelikeeric to show their support.  They are also having a a fundraiser to help raise funds for his family for his memorial service.

The tragic loss is nothing anyone at The Bachelorette could have anticipated, but it sounds like they will carefully plan how it will be played out on the show.
