The death of a 9 year old Tampa Bay girl has been treated as homicide and simultaneously confirmed by medical examination on Sunday to be the body of a missing girl found in Tampa Bay.
There remained many questions unanswered as to how Felecia Nicole Williams ended up near the Clearwater side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway which is 25 miles from where she was last seen and more surprisingly why her disappearance went unreported by family friend for hours.
An assurance to the girl’s mother over hugs and prayers this weekend was given by Temple Terrace police Chief Ken Albano that he would seek justice for her daughter’s killer. “My primary goal is to ensure that I present to our State Attorney’s Office a fantastic case for them to prosecute so that this person stands accountable for this atrocity,” Albano said.
An autopsy was conducted by the Pinellas County medical examiner but the cause of death was not released by the police. Mr. Rob Shaw, the spokesman of Clearwater Police Department said that there were no visible signs of trauma to the body of the deceased and no immediate family members are considered suspects. “The circumstances surrounding this investigation lead us to believe that it is, most definitely, an isolated incident,” Albano explained.
Felecia was taken from her E Ida Street north of Ybor City to the Doral Oaks apartments in Temple Terrace by her family friend Eboni A. Wiley, 23 as stated by the authorities. Wiley told police she left Felecia in front of the television while she took a shower, but when she got out the child was gone.
