Bloggers and journalists knew the day was coming when they’d be typing ‘Seattle Seahawks Visit White House’ but couldn’t know how the day would turn out.
It has become customary for the champions of the major professional and college sports to visit the White House and be honored by the sitting president in a special ceremony. Wednesday afternoon it was time for the Seattle Seahawks, as winner of the last Super Bowl, to make their visit.
To say it was a memorable visit for the players and fans would be an understatement.
Throughout the visit many players were all over social media documenting the visit. Guys posed in the halls, Russell Wilson photobombed a Richard Sherman selfie–but no one was silly enough to attempt to take a selfie with President Obama after the uproar that David Ortiz caused when the Boston Red Sox visited.
A good time was definitely had by all–especially the Seahawks fans that were in attendance.

Known for his quips when sports teams are being honored Obama was in rare form with a number of great jokes during the official ceremony. The best one was in reference to the one player that was absent, running back Marshawn Lynch (starting at the 1:00 mark):
Seattle left it’s own special mark on the day’s events as well. Rather than give Obama a custom jersey they presented him with a ’12th Man’ flag:
