Why Is The US Government Working To Get Rid Of GPS? – ‘The Why’

Welcome to the latest edition of The Why.

Everywhere you look the media is pushing you telling you who to follow, what to watch and when to watch it.   You’re even sometimes told how to do it all.  Truth is, here at American Live Wire we do a bit of that too.  The big difference is we also tell you why.

You ask the questions.  We provide the answers.

“Why is the US government working to get rid of GPS?” you ask? Ah, someone has been keeping up on current events! Yes, it’s true that DARPA or the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has a lot of projects they are working on for the Department of Defense. One of them involves GPS (Global Positioning Satellites).

DARPA has, in fact, been working for the government since 1958. It has been instrumental in the creation of a lot of technological marvels including the Internet which was at one time called the ARPAnet. They have also been behind such things as unmanned aerial vehicles, Spider-man tech and both animal-form and humanoid robots.

Then why is the US government working to get rid of GPS? Wouldn’t that be something that’s right up their alley? Yes, it would.

In fact, GPS is something else in which they have been involved. The newest pet project is named C-SCAN and reportedly has the theoretical “potential to improve” and maybe even “replace GPS.”

Why is the US government working to get rid of GPS? They are trying to get rid of the “old” GPS to make way for the new and improved GPS.

Why is the US government working to get rid of GPS? They are trying to get rid of GPS because they might be able to perfect something better.

Don’t hold your breath though, boys and girls. Word on the web is that this is a relatively old idea. According to one online poster the trouble “is that integration error builds up very rapidly (because it is actually “double integration”). . . “So you have to keep resetting the position estimate.”

While the folks at DARPA feel they can deal with this issue, many outside the system who have studied in the field believe that while C-SCAN has potential in terms of weapons systems use the inertial guidance devices that DARPA is involved with require “resetting” due to the fact that the timing isn’t “of the required accuracy” and very well may never be. Obviously, without truly “accurate time none of the rest of it works unless it is reset by the GPS system” ergo it seems impossible to “get rid of GPS. “

Why is the US government working to get rid of GPS? They are doing so because they currently have the funding to try. They are doing so because “hope springs eternal.”

Why is the US government working to get rid of GPS? Now you know.

You ask the questions.  We provide the answers.

Terribly written garbage. Repeat a few more times will you? Sensationalist crap isn’t even true. Nobody is getting rid of gps.

      Hello Michael,
As .long as you live in America you are welcome to your opinion. Everyone has one no matter how qualified or unqualified. There is a purpose to the repetition but I don’t have the time to go into that.
I don’t judge the questions submitted to me i simply respond to them. yes, the agency is indeed working to get rid of what we currently know as GPS. IF GPS is never ever replaced or even improved then your prediction could turn out to have be correct. Thanks for your comment and for reading my stuff.

Actually I should apologize for my tone. Whether I agree with the writing style or not doesn’t give me license to make a rude ass of myself. I do however appreciate the professional way that you handled it.

Ah, no biggie. It’s the internet. It’s just like we were having a drink together. We’re still experimenting with the format. We are dropping the long intro for example. The repetition is something that was born out of writing online. It flows better sometimes than others I admit that! LOL!
