Typically when you hear about a woman being involved in a domestic violence case she is the victim, but that is not the case with soccer star Hope Solo.
No, in this incident the two-time Olympic gold medalist is the aggressor in the situation.
Details are sketchy so far, but according to the Seattle Times a male called Seattle police early Saturday morning from a house party to report a woman who appeared to be out of control and would not stop hitting people. When the woman refused to leave the police were called so they could intervene.
“There was a big party going on at her house. It was an out-of-control situation,” Lt. Mike Murray of the Kirkland police said.
When police arrived on the scene Solo appeared to be intoxicated and upset. Her sister and nephew–who were also at the party–appeared to have several wounds on them assumed to be inflicted by Solo.
“There were visible injuries on them,” Murray said.
It’s not the first time that Solo has been involved in a domestic violence incident, but in the last one involving her now husband–former NFL tight end Jeramy Stevens–she was the victim. Within hours of the incident and his arrest the two were married.
Charges against her husband were eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.[SeattleTimes]
