The odd looking animal lives up to its’ name anteater, because it is known for eating ants and termites. It is in the Pilosa order, along with the sloths. Its extremely thick fur protects them from the insects it eats. It does not have teeth, but it uses its long claws to rip apart whatever necessary. The anteater has a very long tongue and an elongated snout. They also eat spiders, and normally have to ingest at least 1,000 insects to satisfy its appetite. Each anteater has their own specific preference when it comes to what insects to feed on.
