The arctic fox is known by many names including; polar fox, white fox and snow fox. It resides in the arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere, where it is well adapted to the cold. It has very thick white fur that obviously blends in with the snow. The thick fur turns brown in the summer time. It feeds on many small animals like; owls, lemmings, carrion, eggs and many others. It is known for its sharp hearing, which helps them hear their prey even when they are hidden underneath the snow. The arctic fox also survives on berries, seaweed and small fish below the ice.
