Eminem and Rihanna kicked off ‘The Monster’ tour and received rave reviews. The mini tour opened in Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl August 7th with a 48 song set list.
The two mega stars kept a sold out audience entertained from start to finish opening the show together. Rihanna’s Unapologetic track ‘Numb’ which features Eminem kicked things off with a solo Rih Rih and then a tamed Eminem rose on a platform strapped to a stretcher. It was the perfect introduction, which was lead by a short Silence of the Lamb themed film featuring Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli.
The two entertainers had their own set when they weren’t joined by each other. Rihanna performed her hit songs including; Where Have You Been, Man Down, What Now, Stay and many others. Eminem wowed the audience with his hit singles The Way I Am, Rap God, Square Dance, Without Me, The Real Slim Shady and much more. Rihanna joined Eminem singing the chorus to ‘Stan’, which originally features Dido.
Eminem and Rihanna had one more separate set before closing out the show together. Of course the show ended with the tour titled single, The Monster. Reportedly the show was almost three hours long, allowing them both just enough time to perform some of their biggest hits.
The dynamic duo has two number one songs together; Love the Way You Lie and The Monster. Rihanna said in a past interview that she enjoys working with the “poet”, because he is one of her favorite rappers and enjoys his lyrical abilities.
The mini tour only has six dates and three locations. The show will continue tonight again in Pasadena California’s Rose Bowl. Other locations include; New York, New York’s Metlife Stadium and Detroit, Michigan’s Comerica Park.
