In the last few weeks we’ve learned quite a bit, relatively speaking, about Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Several set photos, videos and official announcements have been made, but thanks to an extra on the set, we have some pretty major Batman V Superman spoilers.
Perhaps it goes without saying, but if you would rather not know anything about the movie, STOP READING NOW!
What we do know is that Lex Luthor, Superman’s arch nemesis, is going to be played by Jesse Eisenberg in the film. Based on a report from Geek Tyrant, it looks an extra who was working on the set was able to figure out what Luthor is up to in the plot of the film.
“One of the scenes shot featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body,” read the report.
The extra said that the ending of the film has already been shot and that this was one of the scenes. So, basically Luthor, who isn’t overly fond of Superman, is somehow getting a hold of kryptonite, the one thing that can hurt Superman and for some reason Batman, whom is supposed to be fighting Superman according to the films title, is trying to get said kryptonite. Snyder seems to be baking a many layered cake. Maybe those layers are all vanilla, but they are layers alright.
Also, for those that didn’t see Man of Steel (spoilers), the “Zod’s body” comment refers to General Zod, who got his neck broken by Superman at the end of the film. The other rumor floating around is that Luthor is going to be using Zod’s body tissue to create a super villain that can go toe to toe with Superman. If you are familiar with the source material, this is very likely going to be Doomsday.
This information comes along with the recent set footage that depicted Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne saving a kid from some falling rubble. Also, we did get the leaked Comic-Con footage. Though we still don’t know a whole lot, with this new information, we can start to piece things together.
