Islamic State militants have released a video purportedly showing the beheading of a US journalist who went missing two years ago. In a video uploaded to YouTube the ISIS terrorist showed video evidence. YouTube has taken down the video after determining that it was “a violation of YouTube’s policy on violence.” Good.
The footage appears to show a masked man – speaking in English with traces of a British accent – killing James Foley, who was seized by armed men in Syria in November 2012.
In th video Foley is forced to read a letter urging Americans to rise up against his “real killer,” the “U.S. government.” I call on my friends, family and loved ones to rise up against my real killer, the U.S. government. What will happen to me is only a result of their complacency and criminality.”
Individuals on Twitter responded to the tragic news.
