Kobani, Syria – The United States military has lead a series of successful airstrikes against key targets of the Islamic State over the weekend so far. A group of 12 precise airstrikes took out multiple targets across Syria and Iraq, putting some hurt on the jihadi fighters. Everything from fortified buildings used as strongholds, to tiny pickup trucks used as improvised technical vehicles were blown sky high by explosive bombs dropped by coalition fighter planes. In addition to the United States, pilots from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have been participating in the recent aerial attacks.

In the Syrian city of Kobani, six US-led fighter jets dropped bombs on 2 buildings that were a major outpost for ISIS fighters in the area. Additional damage was done to fortified fighting positions nearby, as well as the complete destruction of 2 of the enemy vehicles.
Across the border in Iraq, bombs got dropped on a few dispersed targets that included a building and a few vehicles. One building in particular was leveled to the ground with an entire unit of IS fighters still inside. The expected death toll from that single strike was expected to have completely collapsed the strength of ISIS in the immediate area.
In addition to the highly successful airstrikes, Iraqi military personnel made contact with some IS insurgents to the West of Baghdad, causing some light casualties to the Islamic State forces there. While taking a heavy beating as of late, the fighters of the Islamic State still remain devout to their causes, and continue to fight despite a shrinking network of support. Efforts from the US military and the fighting power of other Middle Eastern countries have managed to create massive amounts of disruption to ISIS supply convoys and strongholds.
