Global Warming Best Averted By Reducing Emissions Instead Of Converting Them

A lot of emphasis has been placed on Carbon emissions in the past 20 years. People across the globe have become increasingly aware of the impact that humans have on the Earth’s ecosystem. One of the major initiatives underway is for governments around the world taking action to commit to reduce their country’s carbon emissions into the atmosphere. It is believed that if these carbon emissions can be reduced, that the negative impact that out industrialized society is having on our world. One way that these carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases have been reduced in recent years is to convert them into other chemicals, but that may not be the best approach.

Carbon emissions are only one type of pollution that human manufacturing is creating. In addition to carbon monoxide, other chemicals like CFCs and ozone have also been released into the air. If you are aware of your car’s emissions system, you will note that there is a catalytic converter, which converts harmful carbon emissions into other substances deemed to be less toxic to our atmosphere. It would be even better though if we could work to wholly reduce the amount of emissions being pumped into the atmosphere, regardless of what else we manage to convert it into.

Alternatives to fossil fuels are being explored further every day, such as solar power, nuclear power, and electricity. There may not be any form of energy that is 100% effective at producing no emissions, but there are certainly some that can produce more manageable amounts of it than others. Automobiles, manufacturing plants, power plants, and even household appliances are producing emissions that are harming us every day. It may be years before we fully realize the impact that we have made on the air and the oceans, bit lets hope that we figure it out before we lose what we already have.
