Ronda Rousey Defeats Cat Zingano In Seconds At UFC 184

Los Angeles, California – UFC 184 was televised live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California tonight. The main event was ticketed as the women’s fight featuring two undefeated UFC fighters. Ronda Rousey has long been a major figure in martial arts, which goes back all the way to her grade-school days. Cat Zingano has also had an impressive career, and had remained undefeated up until tonight’s event.

It wasn’t a knock out that ended the fight tonight, as some may have been hoping to see. The event hardly took place at all. After the start of the 1st round, Cat Zingano  charged the mat and tried to dish out a beating to Ronda Rousey. Zingano’s blitz caused her to take her guard down, and before you knew it Rousey had her in an arm bar and Zingano was calling it quits.

True to her form, Rousey was quick to seek the submission. Even a fully energized opponent can give up in a matter of seconds if the right amount of pressure is applied in the correct part of the body. Rather than giving the crowd a round-after-round fight, which might have been more enjoyable, Rousey seized the opportunity given to her. To those watching, it didn’t even appear that there was an opportunity to get into an arm bar, but Rousey proved that she is worthy of the Championship as she reached out of nowhere and pulled it off.

There must have been some upset fans that were hoping for more. All of the hype led up to just a few ticks on the clock before it was all over. Pay-per-view events sometimes go this way, but it hasn’t seemed to happen all that often. Rousey left the ring with hardly a bead of sweat dripping down her face, with an ear to ear grin. It seems that even she may not have believed what just took place herself.
