Having a case of the Tuesday blues? Cheer up because today is National Pancake Day, which also means that for today only IHOP is giving out free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes. Already had breakfast – there’s nothing wrong with second breakfast or breakfast for lunch or breakfast for dinner.
Now in its 10th year, IHOP has celebrated National Pancaked Day by giving out a short stack of buttermilk pancakes free of charge, while also asking patrons to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other locally designated charities. Free pancakes for a good cause, what more could you ask for.
While a donation is not required, IHOP loves when the warmth of their patrons’ hearts match the warmth of the fluffy flapjacks they serve.
This year, IHOP hopes to raise $3.5 million, bringing the total raised over the past ten years close to $20 million. So far IHOP has collected $16 million for charities.
The offer is valid from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015. The offer is available at most locations.
To make you stomach grumble even more, social media sites are already blowing up Tuesday morning with the hashtag #NationalPancakedDay trending across multiple sites.
Like many other made up celebrations, there’s little reason reason behind why March 3rd was selected for National Pancake day. Other people celebration National Pancake Day on September 26, part of National Breakfast Month.
No matter the rhyme or reason for the pancake celebration today, there’s no better time to get some free pancakes in your stomach while helping a good cause.
If eating pancakes doesn’t coincide with your spring break diet, you can also help the Children’s Miracle Network by donating $10, $25 or $50 towards a miracle by clicking here.
