Laila Ali, the daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, has said that she could be the undefeated Ronda Rousey. With many of Rousey’s opponents lasting less than 1 minute in the ring with her, Ali says that she could take her down. Skeptics are not sure if she is offering to fight Rousey, or if she is willing to put her money where her mouth is. Honestly, Laila Ali may be writing checks with her mouth that her body just can’t cash.

In her own right, Laila Ali is a definite champion. The female boxing legend retired from the sport with a perfect record, having won all 24 of her professional fights. This does put her in the same league as Ronda Rousey, but with Ronda the skills don’t just end with boxing. Rousey brings a dynamic to the ring that Ali may just not be prepared for.
Rousey has drawn a lot of attention, good and bad, after taking out her last opponent in a timely 14 seconds. She had even stated that she could defeat any man in her weight class in the MMA sport. When asked if she would consider a fight against a man, she backed down and cited that it would never be good to a promote a man fighting a woman.
Both fighters have earned their titles, and have dominated in fields that would typically be reserved for men only. It is natural for two people with these alpha personalities and flawless records to want to provoke one anther. Laila Ali may just be stroking her own ego when it comes to her trash talking Ronda Rousey, but a match-up between the two would certainly not be out of the question.
