Marvel Studios has given fans an extended look at their next big franchise with the second full-length Ant-Man trailer. Ant-Man will be the studios first film to be released after Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is already on track to break multiple box office records.
The latest trailer for Ant-Man dropped on Monday morning after being teased at the MTV Video Music Awards. This new trailer gives a much more detailed look at the plot of the film, as well as its villain, Darren Cross a.k.a Yellowjacket, who is being played by House of Cards star Corey Stoll.
Paul Rudd is playing the lead alongside Michael Douglass and Evangeline Lilly. Judy Greer and Michael Pena are also along for the ride. Hayley Atwell is also billed to be making an appearance as fan favorite character agent Peggy Carter.
The film is considered to be a relatively big gamble for the studio, especially since the films original director Edgar Wright exited the project unexpectedly last year, leaving Marvel to scramble to find a replacement. Yes Man director Peyton Reed ultimately stepped in to fill the shoes.
The films description reads as follows.
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Ant-Man is scheduled for release on July 17. Be sure to watch the latest trailer below.
