Who wants 39000 pounds of Folgers coffee? 39000 pounds of Folgers coffee was stolen in Albany, Georgia over the weekend, creating quite the caffeine buzz.
According to an ABC News affiliate WALB-TV, a 2010 Kenworth Daycab with a 2009 53-foot trailer worth $105,000, was stolen over the weekend from a local trucking company that was holding 39000 pounds of Folgers coffee. The hefty amount of coffee, worth well over $100,000, is a curious steal as, according to Dougherty County Police Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick states, “We have flea markets around here where people can sell just about anything. I don’t know where else they can take it to sell that large an amount.”
The truck was stolen from Raven Transport on Power Lane, where police speculate it was hotwired as the original keys were not used to enter or start the vehicle. Raven Transport is offering $7500 in reward money for the recovery of the truck and the trailer. Moreover, the Dougherty County Police is urging those with any information regarding this incident to call them at 430-6600 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
