In what was a murder suicide 41 year old Daryl Benway, shot both of his children in the head before turning the gun on himself.
When police arrived they discovered 7 year old Abigail dead on the floor in the master bedroom, and 9 year old Owen shot in the head but still alive in the Kitchen.

According to the Worchester Telegram and Gazette there was no indication the Mr. Benway would hurt his family in any way. He had recently lost his job, and his wife Kelleen had moved out of his home several weeks ago.
Mr. Benway had no prior police record, and no restraining orders were on record.
Mr. Benway told told one of his neighbors that he had a job at a bank but had recently been laid off. He used to work for TJX a company that owns department stores TJ Max and Marshall’s.
According to WCVB, ABC’s Boston affiliate. Owen was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit of a nearby UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center where he is said to be in critical condition with his mother by his side.
