Can anyone tell me exactly what the plan is, by any elected official, to pull this country out of debt? Now I’m not talking about rhetoric, I’m talking about true honest ideas that have a chance to work. Something that the American people can get behind, without jeopardizing their freedom, and rights! It doesn’t appear to me that anybody is willing to talk openly and honestly about it. The media isn’t pushing the issue either. This is disturbing. Even on Twitter, with a fast and diverse flow of ideas, it doesn’t seem like there are many even asking the question, let alone putting forth viable ideas on the subject. Nancy Pelosi has been quoted on @ChadPergram; “Pelosi on discussion about debt ceiling: Let’s put an end to it right now…This is not a wholesome debate. I think we should snuff it out”. Now you tell me, is this an answer you would expect from an elected official that works for the American people? It would appear that the lack of discussion on the matter is an effort to keep the American people in the dark. It would appear that nobody has an answer. This is truly sad, because we elected these people evidently not knowing that they were not qualified to do the job. This would mean we didn’t do our homework. This would mean that the Media didn’t do their homework, and help protect the American people.

Looking back through speeches given to the American people, by the candidates, to elicit their votes. I find it troubling that no clear answers to the problems are given.  In a speech given by President Obama on Fiscal Policy to George Washington University in April of 2011.

“Now, at certain times -– particularly during war or recession -– our nation has had to borrow money to pay for some of our priorities.  And as most families understand, a little credit card debt isn’t going to hurt if it’s temporary.”

He went on talking about what has been, and how the past administrations reacted to problems, and tried to solve them. Basically he talked about what he inherited, he went on to say;  “And now that our economic recovery is gaining strength, Democrats and Republicans must come together and restore the fiscal responsibility that served us so well in the 1990s.  We have to live within our means.  We have to reduce our deficit, and we have to get back on a path that will allow us to pay down our debt.  And we have to do it in a way that protects the recovery, protects the investments we need to grow, create jobs, and helps us win the future.”

Sounds good doesn’t it, yet is the economy gaining strength? I would agree that the two party’s need to come together and act responsibly, something they have failed to do for years. He continues; “Now, ultimately, all this rising debt will cost us jobs and damage our economy. Businesses will be less likely to invest and open shop in a country that seems unwilling or unable to balance its books.  And if our creditors start worrying that we may be unable to pay back our debts, that could drive up interest rates for everybody who borrows money -– making it harder for businesses to expand and hire.”

Now finally some truth from a politician, but don’t get excited it won’t keep happening.  Obama continued; “Here’s the good news:  That doesn’t have to be our future. We can solve this problem. But that starts by being honest about what’s causing our deficit.  You see, most Americans tend to dislike government spending in the abstract, And without even looking at a poll, my finely honed political instincts tell me that almost nobody believes they should be paying higher taxes.”

So basically he is telling us that to save money and live within our means, we need to raise the debt ceiling? That we need to borrow more money, because “most families understand, a little credit card debt isn’t going to hurt if it’s temporary.”

Now that we have gone through his Fiscal Policy laid out in his own words, we now have a better understanding of exactly what he purposes to do. What’s that? You still don’t understand? Well I’m afraid that I can’t help you then. You see I don’t understand either, based on what he has said! This is the problem; we elect someone without knowing what he or she will do when they take office. Then they can do whatever they want and tell us they said they were going to do it before you elected them.

As you can see we still don’t have answers, he’s words don’t match his actions. So the only choice we have is to look at his actions, and let them tell us what he will do. It would appear that he would like to take us to Socialism. He is trying to divide us, to make us fight amongst ourselves. This is the same strategy that leaders in Europe are using, and have used for years. DEVIDE AND CONCORE. In my second part I will look at what Romney is telling us he will do.
