The Media, and tweeters, are all talking about gay marriage, and how this will affect the vote. They are also saying that black people will now not vote for Obama, because of his stance on gay marriage. Some black religious leaders are saying their congregation will not even get out and vote. Are you all kidding me now? Is this the most important thing we can talk about? It is like I have been saying, “The government, along with its media backing, is misdirecting the American people away from the issues that matter.
This is what I think about African Americans. Do you have dual citizenship? Are you a citizen of Africa, as well as America? If not then I think you should just be classified as an American, just like the rest of us. After all we all have equal rights. Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t be proud of your heritage, but if you were born in America the majority of your heritage is American. When we stop distinguishing black people as being African American, and start recognizing them as just American, then we will be closer to equality. We need to quit letting the government, and a few other leaders, you know who you are, from trying to divide this nation.
When we can come together as a people for a common cause then and only then is America the great nation that we know it to be. Look at the issues from all sides, and make up your mind where you stand. If you are thinking like a true American, then you will be thinking on what is best for this Nation as a whole. When you do this you will come to the right conclusion. Remember what made this country great is a group of immigrants from several different countries’ united under the Constitution, and built a Nation that has been recognized by most of the world as the greatest nation.
Now when it comes to gay marriage, I don’t know if it is a sin or not. I admit that God doesn’t tell me everything that is on his mind. I would venture to say that God doesn’t talk to a lot of people who want you to believe that they know his thoughts. The only advice that I can give on the subject is this. If one of your children came to you and said that they were gay, what would you do? Would you disown them? Would you tell them that they are going to hell and burn for all time? Would you love them anyway, and try to support them? I look at what the Bible tells me about how a Christian is to act. We are to try to be like Jesus as much as we can. Would Jesus condemn someone for being gay, or would he accept them? The Bible tells us to love one another as God has loved us.
This is what I think, right or wrong in the opinion of others. You can either except it or reject it for this is your right. This is the right the Constitution has given you. I would hope that this November you would choose the Constitution over Socialism. That you would choose Freedom over Oppression. That you would tell Washington to balance the budget, decrease the deficit, and put this country back on the path that will keep this country great.
