A Chinese built settlement is popped up on the outskirts of Angola’s capital Luanda.

Nova Cidade de Kilamba is a brand-new mixed residential development of 750 eight-storey apartment buildings, 12 schools and more than 100 retail units.

The settlement which is about to become a city of over half a million people was built in just over 3 years. China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC) has built the city which is designed to help rebuild the war torn country of Angola.

Angola serves as China’s largest source of Oil, which may be one  reason why China is setting up this modern day outpost.

So far only 220 units out of the 2800 available units have been sold, and the place still looks like a ghost town, as the Chinese government continues to encourage growth to the African outpost.
