According to National Geographic a new trend in body modification called Bagel heads has became the latest fad in Asia.
The patient injects saline solution into the forehead to create a bubble. Once the bubble has been there for a couple hours the doctor then presses down on the middle of the forehead and make an indent that resembles a bagel.
After 16 to 24 hours the swelling will disappear completely once the body has absorbed the saline.
So whats the point of the Bagel Head body modification?
According to a Japanese artist named Keroppy its all about innovation as he told Vice back in 2009: “People who like extreme body modification want to find their own way of doing things, and they’re always looking for new ways to do that. The more progressive the scene gets, the more these people have to experiment and go their own way.”
