Florida has once again been the center of a vote counting controversy, this time involving Congressman Allen West.

Congressman West had originally been told his opponent Democrat Patrick Murphy had won the election in district 18. West promptly filed a lawsuit at a Palm Beach County court calling for all paper ballots to be counted and voting machines “impounded.”

Now it appears that his appeal was for good reason as West has reported that he has won his recount bid by a narrow enough margin to prompt a full recount, according to sources within the Republican’s ranks.

The news follows earlier reports that Congressman West was ahead by 300 votes in predominately-Democrat Palm Beach County on Thursday afternoon.

Allen West posted this to his Facebook Early Saturday:

“BOOTS ON THE GROUND UPDATE FROM THE ALLEN WEST ELECTION COUNT VIA Gary Angelo Galiano: “We win by 195″

This should mean that there will be a FINAL RECOUNT in Tallahassee of ALL the votes in this election!! It is my understanding that they will now go thru ALL the ballots and make this official! Could take a week or two!

I cannot thank the patriots of South Florida who did some unbelievably tireless work”
