A dog named Kabang lost her snout while saving two girls from a speeding motorcycle in the Philippines after veterinarians were unable to save her nose. Kabang has been brought to the University of California, Davis, where veterinarians will try to fix her snout.

A fund dedicated to helping her get her snout back has made her trip from the Philippines to the United States possible. The fund lead by Karen Kenngott, a critical care nurse from Buffalo, N.Y., spearheaded an online fundraising campaign for the dog’s care. The fund raised over 20k US dollars.

Once Kabang arrived she under went a consultation! After the consultation, doctors determined Kabang would need two surgeries, and it would take about 6 weeks for her to fully recover. The first round of surgery involves some dental work.

Amazing what kind of medical technology exists these days!
