A drunk lab tech was found partially clothed and surrounded by monkeys at the Georgia Health Sciences University.

According to the Augusta Chronicle, 32 -year-old Coley Mitchell was arrested on August 13 after he was found intoxicated with his pants down in a campus locker room, where he was surrounded by two lab monkeys. The GHSU Police Bureau incident report stated that a co-worker discovered Mitchell partially unclothed in a locker room in the Sanders Research and Education Building about10:30 p.m. Monday.

Mitchel, who works as a Lab Animal Service Technician, was found intoxicated and seated in a chair with his pants half-down. A spokeswoman from the GHSU said that the  two monkeys that were found were outside of their cages in the lab but were confined to the room. Upon the discovery, the monkeys were examined by a veterinarian and found to be unharmed.

Mitchell was booked into the RichmondCountyjail Monday on charges of public intoxication and was released on August 17. Mitchell has been fired by the university as the spokeswoman told reporters, “GHSU does not condone behavior that conflicts with the research, education and clinical missions of the university and employees are expected to conduct themselves, at all times, with integrity and respect.”
