Eerie Photo From GoPro Camera Shows Large Shark Under Surfer

A photo posted to Reddit titled “Found on friends Go Pro Camera after surfing in Rockaway Beach, NY” shows a large shark under surfer. The image was posted to Reddit by bem135.

contrary to popular believe sharks are not out there eating everything they can find. If swimmers truly new how many sharks were in the water with them at any given time most wouldn’t even go in. We as humans are in their domain, and as such we need to learn how to coexist in an ever shrinking world in the water, and on land. I’ve had close calls with sharks in the past, but I use common sence when in the water. Even with that we take our chances like with everything else. It’s no different when driving in a car.

That just made my gut sink as soon as I saw the Great White. The water looks murky too, making it even more scary. Could have been an ambush coming.
Did the surfer know it was there before he took the picture or what? If he did and he was just sitting there casually taking a picture of it then he’s got nerves of steel!
