On July 13th a 71-year old man Samuel Williams stopped a robbery at a Florida internet cafe on Friday when he shot two would-be robbers after they held up the cafe.

The two robbers Davis G. Dawkins, 19, and Duwayne Henderson, 19 burst through the doors of the Palms Internet Cafe in Ocala and ordered everyone to get down as they waved a handgun at dozens of customers.

The robbers didn’t expect the man to pull out his own weapon and fire, injuring both of the criminals and saving the lives of his fellow Floridians.

The two robbers fled the scene in a nearby car, while Mr. Williams locked down the Cafe. He later told the officers he was scared the would be robbers would hurt others including his wife who was sitting near him at the cafe.

The two robbers told police that they did not mean to hurt anyone, but just take the money and run.

Henderson remained in jail late Monday after failing to post $31,000 bond while Dawkins was released Sunday after posting an $11,000 bond.
