Violence has followed the Oakland Raiders to Arizona. A man attending the Oakland Raiders preseason football game against the Arizona Cardinals was shot in the face during an altercation in a parking lot Friday, and the suspect who police say shot him claims it was an accident.
According to AZcentral A fight reportedly broke out between the two men and one of them shot the other. The man was initially hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, police spokeswoman Tracey Breeden said.
According to the Contra Costa Times, the police were called by the suspected shooter, who claims the incident was an accident.
Police said the altercation appears to be fan based. The man who was taken into custody was eventually released by detectives after being questioned.
Police said both men involved in the incident could potentially face charges.
