Call it love, care, or insanity if you want that drove Robert Boudreaux, 31, to hi-jack a passing car and eventually force the driver out so he could rush his pregnant girlfriend to the hospital,  after her car ran out of gas.

Boudreaux stole the car after his 22-year-old girlfriend began bleeding while the couple was walking after several miles according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Instead of using their cell phones to call Law Enforcement Boudreaux began flagging down vehicles to take his girlfriend to the hospital. That is when a 20-year-old driver of a Buick became the target of Boudreaux. After originally saying no to help Boudreaux threatened to shoot him.

The man then agreed, and began driving them to the nearest hospital. On the way, the man denied Boudreaux’s request to run a red light and that is when he pinned the young man to the sit threatened to shoot the man. Eventually he would kick the man out of the vehicle and become the driver.

Boudreaux who is a convicted criminal was arrested in the hospital’s car park on Sunday after he refused to pull over for police as he sped to the emergency room.
