Southern California is notorious for poor air quality and problems related to breathing. Now add foul smell to the list. A strong smell of rotten eggs resonated across parts of Southern California Monday morning.

The Air Quality Management District has been investigating the smell,  which has lead investigators to believe that it could be because of a fish die-off at the Salton Sea.

Although there is no clear idea what is causing the foul smell residents of Moreno Valley, and southern San Joaquin Valley are puzzled by what could be causing the smell.

Southern California has experienced several environmental problems recently. A moderate heatwave, and  several small earthquakes over the last month may also be the culprit.
