While some fights get heated, none so much as one where a girlfriend lights her boyfriend on fire after a fight about a former lover.

The incident took place in the woods, and according to the Daily Mail, the man had a lucky escape after his girlfriend doused his tent with lighter fuel and set it on fire as he slept inside. 26-year-old Jennifer Marie Sharp and her 34-year-old boyfriend had been arguing at the Swift Creek campground in Bellingham, Washington over a former lover of Sharp’s boyfriend. During the argument, Sharp demanded the keys to their car. However, her boyfriend refused to hand over the keys as she had been drinking and, growing tired of the fighting, went into their tent and went to sleep.
Around 10pm, Sharp proceeded to douse the canvas in fuel and ignited it at the front entrance. While the tent was left badly damaged from the flames, her boyfriend escaped with minor injuries including welts, bruises, cuts and scrapes, while avoiding any serious burns. He was met with obstacles of firewood, camp chairs and other items, hurled by his girlfriend. She then wandered off after smashing the windows of their car.
Sharpe was picked up on Highway 20 by police and booked into the Whatcom County Jail, with charges of arson and domestic violence assault.
